Café Church | Free for all | 09-06-2005

'Free for all' is a musical improvisation session on Thursday evenings. A variety of instruments, conventional or less so, are provided or brought by the participants. Everyone who wishes to play puts their name in the chalice. Three or four names are drawn out [depending on numbers present] and those chosen have to improvise on the available instruments. The rules are: you cannot play something you have rehearsed; you cannot play the same instrument twice. Some of the regulars are professional musicians, others are non-musicians. The idea is to set aside considerations of skill or performance and develop listening and creative response.

Barney plays the theremin.

They were attempting to webcast the proceedings via the webcam [held by the troll] and laptop, but it was not clear whether it had succeeded.
