Opawa Baptist Church, 285 Wilsons Road, Christchurch, New Zealand

This wonderful outdoor labyrinth was created in the carpark of Opawa Baptist Church, December 17th-24th 2001, open 8pm to midnight. Over 900 people visited it. The layout is based on the English version shown in the Labyrinth section of this site - but here realised in straw bales! The content is unique. Called 'A Christmas Journey', it traces the Christmas story through stages called:

1. God of the universe
2. So many people
3. The long journey
4. Angels and ordinary people
5. At the stable
6. Fragrant gifts
7. Suffering of the innocents
8. Desert experience
9. And now...
